Johannes Verweij (MD) is a pediatric surgeon in the Wilhelmina Children’s Hospital in Utrecht in the Netherlands. He specialized in upper gastrointestinal pediatric surgical diseases and especially focussed on the thoracoscopic correction of esophageal atresia. In his younger years he traveled from south to north Africa by bike and worked as a resident pediatric surgery in Blantyre Malawi.
