Ellen Reuling (MD, PhD) obtained her medical degree at the University at Amsterdam and worked as a tropical doctor in Cape Town and the rural areas of Kwazulunatal in South Africa. After her global health years she returned to the Netherlands for her surgery registration and specialized in surgical oncology and pediatric surgery. Currently she’s working as a pediatric surgeon in the Wilhelmina children’s hospital in Utrecht in The Netherlands and specialized in thoracoscopic esophageal atresia repairs. She’s board member of the Netherlands Society for International surgery (NSIS) and part of the organization of the global surgery congress “Shaping the future of global surgery together” in Essen.
