Lena Landsmann (MD) is a surgical registrar and currently working in Trauma & Orthopaedics in Berlin. She previously worked in the field of Infection Prevention Control as well as Patient Safety focussing on surgery in Guinea, Côte d’ivoire, as well as Gaza. During her medical studies she further gained experiences in LMIC by completing internship rotations in Malawi, South Africa, Tanzania, Ghana and Vietnam. She believes in needs-based participatory cooperation and training approaches as a more sustainable solution to increase global surgery capacities at eye level.
